Here’s the simple version of how things work:

  • We connect you, we don’t mow:
    We’re an online middle-person that helps residents (Users) find local lawn mowing businesses (Vendors). We don’t mow lawns ourselves.
  • You post, they quote:
    You post a job, Vendors send quotes, and you choose the one you like best.
  • Safe payments:
    You pay through our secure system. Your payment is held in escrow until both you and the Vendor confirm the job is complete. Then, the Vendor gets paid.
  • Independent workers:
    Vendors are independent contractors, not our employees. They’re responsible for their own insurance, tax, and quality of service.
  • Disputes:
    If something goes wrong, we can help mediate, but your main agreement is between you and the Vendor.
  • Fair use:
    Be honest, respectful, and pay or quote fairly. Don’t try to go around the Platform for payment — that’s against our rules.
  • We follow Australian law:
    Your rights under Australian Consumer Law still apply. If something isn’t right, you’re protected.

1. About Our Service

Baymowers.com.au (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides an online marketplace connecting residents who need lawn mowing or yard services (“Users”) with independent service providers (“Vendors”).
We facilitate listings, offers, communication, and payments between Users and Vendors but do not provide the services ourselves.
We are not an employer or agent of any Vendor.


2. Eligibility

You may use the Platform only if you:

  • Are 18 years or older;
  • Can form a legally binding agreement; and
  • Comply with Queensland and Australian law.

3. Creating an Account

Users and Vendors must register for an account to use most Platform features.
You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information;
  • Keep your password secure; and
  • Not share your account or allow unauthorised access.

We may suspend or terminate accounts if these Terms are breached.


4. How It Works

  1. Post a Job: Users submit a job listing with details and photos if applicable.
  2. Get Offers: Vendors receive notifications and may submit quotes.
  3. Accept an Offer: Users review and accept an offer. Payment is made through our secure checkout.
  4. Escrow System: The payment is held safely until both parties mark the job as “complete.”
  5. Release of Funds: Once both confirm completion, funds (minus our service fee) are released to the Vendor.
  6. Disputes: If a disagreement arises, payment may be held until we review and make a fair determination.

5. Payments and Fees

  • All payments must be made through the Platform.
  • Vendors agree that a service fee will be deducted from their payout.
  • Users agree to pay the quoted price upon accepting an offer.
  • We use trusted third-party payment processors.
  • All amounts are in AUD and include GST where applicable.
  • Circumventing the payment system may result in account suspension or termination.

6. Vendor Responsibilities

Vendors agree to:

  • Maintain a valid ABN and required licences or insurance (e.g., public liability);
  • Provide services professionally, safely, and on time;
  • Communicate clearly with Users; and
  • Mark jobs as complete only after finishing the work.

Vendors are independent contractors, responsible for their own taxes, superannuation, and obligations under Australian law.


7. User Responsibilities

Users agree to:

  • Provide accurate job information and allow property access;
  • Be available or make arrangements for the Vendor to complete the work;
  • Confirm completion when satisfied with the job; and
  • Pay only through the Platform.

8. Dispute Resolution

We encourage open communication between Users and Vendors first.
If you cannot resolve a dispute, contact us at [support email].
We may hold payment in escrow while investigating and make a reasonable determination.
This does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).


9. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes your rights under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or the Fair Trading Act 1989 (Qld).
If a Vendor’s service fails to meet consumer guarantees, you may be entitled to a remedy from the Vendor directly.


10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any injury, damage, or loss caused by a Vendor or User.
  • We make no guarantees about service quality, timing, or performance.
  • Our total liability is limited to the service fees paid to us in the three months before the claim.

11. Intellectual Property

All content and materials on the Platform are owned by or licensed to baymowers.com.au.
You may not copy, reproduce, or reuse any material without permission.


12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Breach these Terms;
  • Provide false information; or
  • Act fraudulently or misuse the Platform.

You may close your account anytime by contacting us.


13. Privacy
